Brooch Tabula Rasa :
a Latin perfect expression describing a “blank sheet”, “clean water”, “primordial emptiness”… Would it fit, perhaps, even for a primordial perfect form that would be flawless, clean, undamaged by any unnecessary or inaccurate touches? Where would all our trials yet no efforts, no mistakes of its creator be seen… Forms that may not have been touched by our changing rules, fashions, styles, and torturous search for beauty? Because it has no ornaments, no contrast, no corners or accents beyond which to look and stumble. There is no visual “noise” or pause. No questions, no answers. Only silence.
Brooch Tabula Rasa – when the eyes rest and beauty is just an integral part of it per se.
John Locke used this Latin phrase to describe a person’s mind and being at birth – untouched by the environment, attitudes, rules…
