Pendant Laurel Leaf –
Laurel is a mystical plant shrouded in legends. In the myths told by the ancient Greeks, nymph Daphne turned into a beautiful laurel tree, reaching up to the sky with her arms that became slender branches, in order to escape from the handsome Apollo chasing her, and to preserve her chastity! From that moment Apollo worshiped the laurel tree, he wore its branches in a wreath, which became a divine crown.
Ancient Greeks and Romans crowned victors with laurel leaves – the best of the best! This is where the word “laureate” comes from. People who studied hard and graduated from universities also used to be called laureates.
